Black Belt Productivity, v. 2.0

Well, welcome to the new look Black Belt Productivity. Jason and I have tweaked this theme that I found and we feel that it is more professional looking than the old look. We are still doing a little tweaking, but overall, the look is finished.

Some other news and notes. We will continue to focus on leadership issues on Fridays. Jason will handle most of those posts, since I am a 1 man IT department I don’t do a lot of leading. But, I am also reading The 360° Leader, and it is a GREAT book. We are going to start a regular Monday post that deals with some more practical issues and applications that you can use that week. We don’t have a name for it, yet…but it will come soon enough. Also, we are going to start tossing around ideas for a second round of Black Belt guest posts. Hopefully, by Thanksgiving we will be able to announce something more concrete.

Also, we have secured some Mindjet MindManager licenses to give away to some readers. We have a few ideas brewing as to how to give these away. We are both excited to start focusing on mind maps a little bit more. Jason has been using them for some time and I am just beginning to utilize them. We will trying to use maps a little more is some of our topics and posts. We will also be posting a review of MindManager 6. A good starting place is the Mindjet Webinar featuring David Allen. You get a lot of insight into how David Allen uses MindManger not only in his business, but also his personal life.

Both Jason and I are very excited to be back in the blogosphere. Hopefully, we can get BBP back to the forefront of GTD blogging. So please, come in, look around, and tell us what you think of the new look to BBP.

I spy with my little eye, something made by Parker!! :) ha ha ha. :) Hopefully it’s filled with Noodler’s Eternal Black!

That is the Parker 51 Special that I found at my mother’s house. I have not gotten it serviced or filled yet.

    @Wolfgang

  • Hey guys,

As they say on Mike and Mike in the Morning, “We are back and better than ever”.

Thanks for all of the kind comments.

  • Great to have you back guys!

I’ve read The 360° Leader on your recommendation and found it to be fantastic. I’m looking forward to your future posts about it.

I find your blog to be very pertinent to myself, as I find that the interests you write about are exactly what I am “chewing on”.

  • Great! I just finished reading right back through your archives and you’re back in content generation mode =)

    Cheers guys!

  • Good luck from Switzerland as well!

  • Welcome back! I missed reading your posts on GTD and The 360° Leader (I’m going to have to ask for that as a Christmas present)

The new design is really neat. I love blue, so that may make me biased.

  • Hey guys

Excellent to see you back with a new design. I look forward in reading your trials and tribulations :-)

  • The design looks great. I’m looking forward to the high quality articles that are a hallmark of Black Belt Productivity.

  • Michael, Jason,

Glad to see you’re still - didn’t doubt it really!! - really like the makeover - very good looking. Wish my blog site looked half as professional but then I am using the “feee” version so I have to take what is on offer.

  • Hey Michael! Ah! The pen looks fantastic. :) If I get time to fix the Parkers I have, I’ll be sure to let you know how things go. From what I’m hearing, opening up the nib-cover (forgot the name), and clearning out the nib and collector, and examining/cleaning the feed may be the best thing for it… but, if it’s got a fairly decent sac- try filling it with just water. A lot of times these things are in great shape, and will work without hastle. Keep pushing water through it (lukewarm or cold) until you see clear water come out… then watch for any leaks etc… we can chat later on about this! :)

I hope everyone is doing well! Looking forward to new articles etc.!

    Cheers!
    -Allen
