Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to everyone!!!

We would be remiss as a goal-oriented, productivity website to not talk about New Year’s resolutions.

As I prepare to try to make myself more productive in 2007, I plan to do a couple of things to strengthen my system and educate myself.

First, I want to be much more consistent with my weekly review.

Second, I want to read 20 books this year. I commute to work every day. So some of this can be done in the car between my home and place of employment with audio books. But this also means I will need to spend less time watching TV, and more time with a book.

Oh, and of course lose weight…don’t we all want to do that?…or most of us anyway.

What do you have in mind to make you more productive in 2007?

Do you want to alter your system?

Do you want to be more disciplined with your system?

Do you want to buy a new tool for your system?

Do you have any plans to improve yourself in other ways?

Feel free to use the comments section to start the discussion.

  • Hey guys

All the best for 2007 from that GTD guy in Holland :-) I don’t have real resolutions, just “plans”! They are:
    - More balance between life and work. Since my babygirl is born this has become more important than ever
    - Today I start with Project365. I make one picture every day for the coming day
    - Work with my system instead of constant tweaking

  • Hi there!

First of all - ‘Happy New Year’!
Well my resolutions for this year are something like this:

    * Trust my system and keeping it realy current because this was the main problem last year

    * Do the weekly review weekly

    * Stick with one system for couple of months

    * Finish my studies at university

    * Spend more time with my girlfriend

    * Spend more time with my family

    *…

Ok I think these are enough to start the new year.I can easily find more things to achieve in the new year when they have become a habbit or are done.

  • I have ONE resolution. I know I would fail if I had more than that (wrote about this at http://www.crawdaddycove.com). It is to make running a lifelong habit. For the rest of my life, I never want to go two days without aerobic - unless I’m sick. (I’ve learned that days I don’t run, I might as well have taken a brain damage pill.) Although it’s not my formal New Year’s Resolution, I will also be working on making The Weekly Review a lifelong habit. I believe daily exercise and doing the weekly review are the two most important habits for self-management. More about this here. http://crawdaddycove.com/2006/12/11/30/
